Carson City Off-Road 2018

The Galfer USA crew took to the streets of Carson City, NV to check out the local scene — and the Carson City Off-Road mountain bike event.

As we lay new roots in Carson City, we decided to get a feel for what is going on in our new community. Lucky for us, a new opportunity came into town with the Carson City Off-Road event.

Over 800 race entries, a full block party, and a rock concert — just our kind of party. The Carson City Off-Road event welcomed mountain bike racers and bicycle enthusiasts from all over the world to our new hometown of Carson City.

This race featured a 52-mile long course that trekked over 8,900 feet above sea level, with breathtaking views of Lake Tahoe and some of the most intense trails and riding in the country.

The Galfer crew showed up early Saturday morning to watch the Capitol 50 — the 50 mile event. The race lasted nearly five hours, and the racers fought through wild conditions until they made it back on the pavement. While the officials expected Levi Leipheimer to come across the finish first, it was Spencer Powilson who wheelie-ed his way across the finish in first, followed by Daniel Munoz and Mike Donahue.

It was increible to see the number of bikes and enthusiasts who convened on our new home town to race and enjoy the company of other bike lovers. We were happy to be able to attend this event, and look forward to getting involved more in the future.
