Baggett charges to 2nd overall at Indy Supercross

It was another podium night for Team Rocky Mountain ATV/MC -KTM-WPS as round 11 of the 2019 AMA Supercross season visited Indianapolis, IN this past Saturday night.

The night started at the front for Blake Baggett as he grabbed the holeshot in his heat race and taking the early race lead. Blake would have a few issues on-track that slid him back into the third spot where he took the checkered flag and a spot in the main event. Blake had his starts dialed and in the main event grabbed traction out of the gate rounding the first turn in second place. As the dust settled on the first lap he found himself in 4th place. Blake made his move into third and with under ten minutes to go made the pass for second place. The Sunstar sprocket supported rider then set his sights at the front and would attempt a pass for the lead with just a few laps to go to no avail. Blake kept his composure, hit his marks and used solid riding to finish in 2nd place and his fourth podium of the season.

“It was a solid night” said Baggett. “The starts were important tonight as the track was tight and technical which made hitting my marks every lap that much more difficult. I felt we had the win tonight, just came up a bit short. There’s still a lot of racing and still in this championship fight. We will do the work this week and be ready to grab the win in Seattle next week.”

Justin Bogle rode confident in his heat race, as a good start propelled him deep inside the top ten. Justin hit his marks every lap, finishing 7th to transfer to the main event. The ODI supported rider used a good jump out of the gate in the main event to start just outside the top ten. As the track broke down, Justin slid back finishing 15th at the checkered flag.

“It was a tough night,”said Bogle. “Tonight the track broke down fast and it was unfortunate with my gate pick I didn’t get the start I needed. We are still making progress every weekend and we will be prepared next weekend in Seattle.”

Team Rocky Mountain ATV/MC – KTM – WPS will now head back west to Seattle, WA for round twelve of the 2019 AMA Supercross Series.
