It was a podium night for Team Rocky Mountain ATV/MC -KTM-WPS as round nine of the 2019 AMA Supercross season headed to Atlanta, Ga and Mercedes-Benz Stadium this past Saturday night.
Blake Baggett came into Atlanta ready to fight for the win as his night started at the front of the field .The Hinson Racing supported rider lead the field into the first turn to grab the holeshot in his heat race. He soon pulled away, hitting his marks every lap and showed confidence on the technical track never relinquishing control of the lead as he took the checkered flag for a wire to wire victory. He carried that speed into the main event, as he rounded the first turn in third place. Blake continued to charge and rode a calculated race, moving into second by mid race. He then started to put pressure on Cooper Webb for the lead, closing the gap late in the race. After a late race charge, he took the checkered flag in 2nd place.
“I’m happy with my ride tonight” said Baggett. “The track was tough and I had to stay focused out there. I just came up a bit short. We’ll keep digging and be ready to get that second win in Daytona next weekend.”
Justin Bogle made his way to the main event with a solid ride in the LCQ where he took the lead before the end of lap one and never gave up the lead the win in commanding fashion. His main event wouldn’t go as smooth however, as he would start at the back of the pack. The Dunlop supported rider would work his way forward and by the checkered flag finish the night in 14th.
“Overall it was a positive night,” said Bogle. It felt good to get that win in the LCQ and a boost in my confidence. While I didn’t get the start I needed in the main, I am happy with my ride. We are are still progressing and moving in the right direction. I’m looking forward to next weekend in Daytona. ”
