The Galfer USA-backed HEP Motorsports Supercross team reports in from the season opener at Angel Stadium of Anaheim.
The 2019 Monster Energy AMA Supercross series kicked into high gear this past weekend with it’s annual opening race, Anaheim 1. H.E.P. Motorsports brought it’s three-man roster of Kyle Chisholm (#11), Alex Ray (#62), and Adam Enticknap (#97). All three riders participated in media day the Friday before the race, this event is covered by various local media outlets. The day continued with Alex Ray and Adam Enitcknap attending Ricky Carmichael’s Learn to Ride experience. This event allowed the riders to give tips to their fans and show them proper riding techniques. Friday night was spent at Bert’s Mega Mall for an autograph signing which featured other factory teams in the industry. With a huge turnout, the autograph signing was a success, it gave our riders a opportunity to meet their fans and showcase their sponsors.
Kyle Chisholm #11 – It was a strong Anaheim 1 performance from Chisholm. The night didn’t go as planned, but the seasoned veteran persevered. Missing the Main in an unfortunate heat race, Kyle was forced to fight his way in through the Last Chance Qualifier. In the LCQ, Kyle got a good start as he climbed into the top 10, in the last couple laps he was able to pick up the fourth and final transfer position. The Main Event followed with a massive down pour of rain, which made navigating through sections very difficult. Chisholm finished the night in 22nd place. Look for him to build on his performance next weekend in Phoenix, Az.
Alex Ray #62 – Looking good early on in the day, throwing down fast lap times and putting solid laps together, the night looked very promising. Unfortunately for A-Ray in his heat race he fell mid-moto making it impossible for him to make up the difference. Things did not change for Alex in the LCQ, not getting the start he is capable off and having to overcome a huge position deficit Alex Ray missed the main event. Look for him to put it together next weekend in Phoenix, Az.
Adam Enticknap #97 – Coming very close to the main event, missing the transfer spot by one position, it was not the night Adam Enticknap wanted. Having missed the main in the heat race by a few positions he was forced to make his way through the last chance qualifier. In the LCQ we saw the 722 get a great start well inside the top ten and in the mix for a transfer spot. Having locked down the fourth transfer spot early in the race, the night looked for certain that Enticknap was into the main, unfortunately with a few laps to go teammate Kyle Chisholm made the move and took 4th from him. Look for Adam Enticknap to improve on this performance and to be in the main next weekend.
H.E.P. Motorsports made its first stop on their seventeen-round tour of the 2019 Monster Energy AMA Supercross series this past weekend in Anaheim, Ca. The night brought us a huge crowd whose presence could be felt on the track and in the pits. For H.E.P. Motorsports the night didn’t go as planned, only putting one rider into the main event with two riders barely falling short. Look for H.E.P. Motorsports to improve on its performance this past weekend with a strong showing in Phoenix, as all three riders are hungry for the Main Event.
