RMATVMC: Blake Baggett on the podium in Oakland

It was a top ten night for Team Rocky Mountain ATV/MC -KTM-WPS at round 4 of the 2019 Supercross season inside the Oakland Co. Coliseum in Oakland, CA this past Saturday night.

Team riders Blake Baggett rode to his second podium of the season, while Justin Bogle grabbed his first top ten of the year.

Blake Baggett showed speed throughout the day on the Oakland track. The FMF Racing supported rider launched out of the gate in his heat to lead the field into turn one, earning the holeshot. After sliding back to third, he continued to ride strong taking the checkered flag in third and a spot in the main event. Blake had a wild main event, rounding the first turn outside the top ten in 17th place.

With no time to lose, the Engine Ice supported rider set his sights on the front of the pack and put on a charge, picking off riders ahead of him. He worked his way from 17th up to 3rd place with 5 minutes left to go. He kept his focus, hitting his marks to finish the night in 3rd place , picking up podium number two of the year. After four rounds, Blake has moved to 7th in the championship points.

I am happy with tonight,” said Baggett. “I was buried at the start of the main and just worked my way to the front, so I am happy to land on the podium tonight after that. We’ll go back this week, make a few changes and come out in San Diego ready to battle for the win.”

Justin Bogle felt the flow of the Oakland track and looked smooth during the afternoon qualifying. In his heat race, Justin battled a mid-pack start to inside the top ten before going down in the whoops and sending him to the LCQ. In the LCQ, he timed the gate perfectly as he rounded the first turn in the lead.

He kept the pace and rode solidly to a second place to secure a spot in the main event. Justin used the extra seat time to his advantage in the main event as his Hinson Racing clutch put the power to the ground and from a far outside gate rounded the first turn in third. He didn’t let up, crossing the finish line in 10th place.

It was a good night,” said Bogle. “I’m happy with how I rode tonight and feeling more comfortable on the bike. We are making progress and will be ready for San Diego next weekend. ”

Team Rocky Mountain ATV/MC – KTM – WPS now heads to San Diego’s Petco Park for round five of the 2019 Supercross Series.
